Is white nationalism best compared to a birth defect, an infectious disease, a parasitic infection, or possibly some type of cancer? Considering recent events, including the Capitol siege, computational biologist and assistant professor C. Brandon Ogbunu explores the merits and drawbacks of analogies to various pathologies. The author concludes by introducing a new analogy to a pathology and discusses how solutions used for the pathology might be considered in addressing racism in America.
